These pieces of art are on display at the Columbus Learning Center in Columbus Indiana from March 2023- ?.

"Dead-icated to Building Communities"

This complex piece begins with the simple 8 point mandala and utilizing high pressure (~ 8,000 pound) clamp resists to create the bolts and architectural curves.  The piece then splits open and melts into a 32 point Mandala then plunges below the water line.  "Dead-cated to Building Communities" represents the efforts that the few (8 points) can have on the many (32 points) through communication, art, music and understanding. Our greatest gift to one another is sharing our strengths and learning from each other regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, language, (dis)ability, or age.

"Aha'aina"

Aha'aina, or a gathering for a meal, embodies this shibori resist dyeing technique which was first complexly folded and then high pressure was added to create the repeating patterns. Coming to the table, even under great pressure and resistance, opens our hearts to good vibes in circulation, lets see who they find?

"Unwavering Mothership"

From numerology we learn that 26 is about being patient while going through trials, always giving from a place of love and facing life head on. Folding this 26 point mandala was a practice of patience and forgiveness to feel the joy that it brings coupled with the age old question: Can you still have fun?

"Tribute to the Boilermakers"

This whimsically sunny piece is a 28 Point Mandala tribute to Purdue University's Boilermaker's  reputation as a world leader in engineering, teaching and research. The 28 beams of sunlight dancing in the steam to the olfactory sense of Petrichor. I hope this piece finds a happy home to a Boilermaker!

"Salute to the University of Indiana"

Mandalas visually represent the universe and can help internally guide our meditations. This 30 point "Salute to the University of Indiana" mandala guides your eyes inwards towards the center of the universe and was inspired by what space smells like because you will always remember where you were.
